Sex Addiction

“Addicts mistakenly trade intimacy for intensity”

Sex Addiction and Drugs – A podcast episode of Roy Kim interviewing Andy Park

Are you someone who struggles with compulsively watching porn or have sexual behaviors that are problematic for you or your partner? Porn and sex addictions have long been culprits to people losing valuable time, relationships, and money, and it’s helpful to know that you’re not alone in this battle. Most people feel powerless and unable to stop their behaviors despite being ruthlessly determined and make countless promises to others (or God) that they will stop. As you can imagine, this is where shame spirals out of control and coincidentally where the addiction thrives.

Sexual addiction is a complex addiction but there is hope! As a trained Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT®) and Certified Multiple Addiction Therapist (CMAT), I have completed all training developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes which requires attendance at multiple training modules and supervision with a CSAT Supervisor. It also requires regular continuing education so that CSATs are kept up to date as experts in providing sexual addiction therapy. It is a rigorous process designed to help me best help you.

I treat and specialize in working with individuals and partners of sex addicts and utilize insight building, EMDR, task model and performables, and outside community resources (primarily SAA) to bring about lasting change. My focus and passion is in helping Asian-American men who struggle with out-of-control sexual behaviors or pornography use. If you’d like to take steps towards freedom and healing please don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you!

What is a CSAT? CSAT stands for Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. By having this certification this means I have undergone rigorous training (160 hours of class work, at least 30 hours of supervision, and have at least 5 years of clinical experience) to help individuals and their families deal with the effects of sex addiction. I am a fully Certified Sex Addiction Therapist.
